The Andes Garden Club was presented with the idea of forming a Botanical Garden at the site of the Ballantine Historic Property, located at 255 Main St in Andes. Naturally, as gardeners, and folks who care about plants, nature, and the beauty all around us, we have been supportive of this idea, and its goals. We look forward to working with the MaNaBu organization to imagine all of the possibilities that this space can open up for our community! Some of our club goals are:
To have a home for our botanical library, which would include just books dedicated to all things botanical, and conveniently located just across the street from our public library!
To have a space where we can hold larger talks and events when needed
To host classes and demonstrations
To have living demonstrations of garden practices
To give a home to our tool library, so that we may share things we don't necessarily need to purchase for a one time use
To give our community plant library, and seed exchange a home, so that we may share with our neighbors!
